March 5, 2005: Inaugural Sacramento State Relays, Co-Hosted by Sacramento State University & Jesuit High School

PLACE: Hornet Stadium, on the campus of Sacramento State University. Site of the 2000 & 2004 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials and the 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007 NCAA Division I Track & Field Championships.

TIME: Both field and running events will start at 10:00 a.m.

FACILITIES & LOCATIONS: The competition track will be for competition only. All running and jumping events will be contested inside the competition track. Throwing events will be contested just outside the competition track. The warm up track will be used for all warm ups and the shot put competition. We will contest two horizontal jumps simultaneously, with the possibility of two high jumps, and two pole vaults simultaneously. Please check meet updates as the field event schedule will be finalized the week of the meet.

ADMISSION: Adults $5.00, Youth (ages 2-17) $3.00.

COMPETITORS: Athletes and coaches will receive wrist bands. They must be worn at all times toenter the stadium, warm-up areas, and the competition track!

EVENTS: The majority of events will be relay fashion, with 3 open running events. All sections will be seeded randomly. Two Divisions available: Varsity Boys, Varsity Girls.

*All field events will be contested in 3-person relay format (1 or 2 person teams will be allowed to compete).

AWARDS: The first three teams in each event will receive medals. Top 3 individuals in individual races will also medal. Event winners will be reported to the Sacramento Bee. Awards should be picked up after the meet by a designated coach from each school.

SURFACES: Mondo is surfaced throughout the competition facility for all running and jumping events. ONLY PYRAMID SPIKES WILL BE ALLOWED! This will be strictly enforced!

TEAM PACKETS: Team Packets should be picked up starting at 7:45am at the ticket booth outside Hornet Stadium Northeast Entrance. Entry fees must be paid to receive your team packets. Wristbands and competitor numbers will be included in the meet packet. Competitor numbers will only be used for the 3 x 1500m relay. Hip numbers will be issued at clerk’s tent for all other events.

TIMING: Fully Automatic Timing will be used through Finishlynx.

PARKING: Team parking will be located at the East side of the stadium.

WARM UP AREA: The practice track adjacent to the stadium will be used for all warm ups. The competition track will be used only for competition. The shot put will also be contested in the warm up area.

FACILITIES: Restrooms will be available behind stadium bleachers. Locker room facilities will NOT be available. NO showers available.

TRAINING ROOM: Athletic training services will be provided and located at the southwest corner of the fieldhouse.

MERCHANDISE & CONCESSIONS: Both concessions and merchandise will be available. Inaugural Sac State HS Relay tee shirts will be sold for $10.00 each.

MINIMUM MARKS: Each athlete will have their first legal mark measured. Any mark thereafter needs to meet the minimum distance to be measured.

RESULTS: Results will be posted outside the fieldhouse during the meet. Complete results will be available online at www.hornetsports.com.

CHECK-INS: Field event athletes should check in at field event site at least 30 minutes before competition. Running events should check in to the clerk of the course located at the northwest corner of competition track no later than 15 minutes before event.

TIME SCHEDULE: A rolling time schedule will be used for both field and running events to start at 9:30am. Please watch the order of events and have the athletes warmed up and ready to compete in their event. Calls will be made on stadium PA system.

TEAM TENTS: Team tents will only be allowed at the south end of the stadium or about row 20 in the bleachers. NO tents at the north end of the stadium please.
