From Coach Zielke:

Transportation: There will be bus transportation to this meet. The bus will leave Jesuit at 6:00 a.m.. We ask all athletes to meet in the gym parking lot at 5:45 a.m. to allow time to load the bus and take attendance. All athletes should plan on taking the bus to the meet.

Return Time: The awards ceremony will conclude the meet at 1:00 p.m.. We should arrive back at Jesuit around 3:00 p.m.. If you plan on returning with your parents or the parents of another athlete, you need to let Mr. Zielke know before you leave.

Directions:

Plan 15 minutes extra travel time in case of difficulty in finding the meet site once you reach Novato.

1. I-80 west to CA Highway 37 (app. 50 miles) just before Vallejo (Marine World-Africa USA).

2. CA - 37 towards San Rafael (0.6 miles) merges onto Sears Point Rd. (11.1 miles)

3. Sears Point Rd. Becomes SR-37. (7.3 miles)

4. Take the Atherton Ave. Ramp towards Black Point. Keep right at the fork in the ramp. Turn left onto Atherton Ave. (3.2 miles)

5. Atherton Ave. Becomes San Marin Dr. (2.7 miles)

6. Turn right on Novato Blvd and follow to Park on Left Side of Street (3.6 miles)

Total distance from downtown Sacramento, app. 80 miles.

COWCHIP CLASSIC CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL

HOSTS: Novato High School Cross Country Teams.

DATE: Saturday, September 22, 2001.

SITE: Stafford Lake Park and surrounding private pastureland.

COURSE 2.0 and 3.0 mile courses with over 95% on dirt fire roads and grass. Mostly rolling hills with one very challenging hill on each course. Both courses offer spectacular viewing.

FORMAT: Unique and exciting racing where all divisions can meet teams they otherwise might not see head to head. Lots of awards!

12:40 Team Awards Unique plaque for 1st-6th place team in ALL varsity races, 1st-3rd in other races. Each team member (7) receives medals (1st) or ribbons (2nd-6th) or (2nd-3rd).

* List top 7 F/S for 8:50 race, put all other F/S in 8:30 Open Race.

**/*** Varsity races limited to 7 runners, and you must enter a full varsity team before fielding a JV squad. Also, you may only enter a team in one of the varsity races, boys or girls. (For example: if you enter a team in a Golden Chip race, you can't enter one in the regular varsity race. However, you could have a boys team in the Golden Chip and a girls team in the regular varsity race or vice versa.). NO EXCEPTIONS.

ENTRY FEE: $100 per school, $25 per race, $7 per individual.

T-SHIRTS: Available race day for $12. Second in series of four originals.

FOOD: Coffee, cocoa, sodas, bottled water, bagels, muffins, bananas, orange juice, cookies, candy, power bars and much more.

PARK FACILITIES: Grassy picnic area near lake. Bathrooms.

PARKING: Buses are admitted free and each school gets two passenger vehicles free. Free vehicle checked off at entry station. All other parking is $5.00.
