Michael Stember wins
the 1995 State Meet title ss a junior, 4:04.00.
Mark
Mastalir won the 1986 California State meet 1600, a week earlier he ran
4:04.15 to edge brother Eric by .08.
Eric
Mastalir won the 1986 California State meet 3200 in 8:44.95, a state
and National Federation record. Splits were 4:24-4:20.
In
1987 Paul Thomas narrowly loses the 1600 despite running 4:08.57.
He
returned 2 hours later to win the 3200 in 9:02.82.
David
Welsh won the 1989 California State meet 3200 in 8:58.09; his last 200
was in 28 seconds. Unfortunately, this video misses the last
couple of
laps.
1994,
Matt Farley placed 3rd in the California State meet 3200. He was
the defending state champion, but had done limited training his senior
year due to injury. Still, this was a pr 9:03.55 with a very strong
last lap.
